First Time For Everything

Trying Caviar: First Time For Everything
I love food. It’s my spirit animal. So much so, that my heart compels me to write you all a cookbook. I’m not there yet, but I feel it coming. Until then, let me share my experience with one of the worlds most expensive foods: caviar. I never tasted caviar before but there’s a first time for everything.
I Really Had No Motivation To Try It but… There’s a First Time For Everything
For no reason at all, other than being home seeking a sensory experience I agreed to taste caviar for the first time. See the hilarious experience here:
Saltiest Eggs Ever
After trying caviar I have to clear my tastebuds before going on a deep dive into researching the hype. I eat cooked eggs all the time, I even had a raw quail egg one night in Miami with my friend Edgar. Eggs are versatile and unique. You can spice them up, add different flavours (including salt). But of all the eggs I’ve tried, Caviar eggs are the saltiest eggs ever.
So Why are They So Expensive
Despite the current rising cost of chicken eggs, caviar is regularly an expensive egg. Some sell for $35,000 a kilo (I should build a house in the ocean and start a caviar business). I’m kidding about the business but an ocean home sounds like a dream.
So, getting back to the cost… rarity, labor, quality control, and the trend for people to price things recklessly are reasons we pay large amounts for the saltiest eggs ever.
Will I Try Them Again
I’m not a fan of paying high prices for food, because I believe food should be accessible for all. But, price is not why it will be a while before I try caviar again. Taste plays the biggest factor. Caviar is an acquired taste that I need a bit more patience to experience. I’m glad I took a bite: it was an adventure. Have you tried caviar? What was the experience like for you?
