How Fast Is She

Does Sha’carri’s Speed Make Her Fast?

Watching Sha’Carri Richardson run track is a sport of it’s own. At times she wins, in others she loses and as we watch we wonder “how fast is she“?

Taking no criticism lightly and being fearless in her approach to self expression, Sha’carri is the biggest name in women’s track today. She wins when haters expect her to lose and she fights critics unapologetically. And even when she loses all eyes remain on her.

We wait to see her thoughts, feelings, and we listen to what pours out of her. In ways it feels she carries mental weight and emotional weight that impact her speed. We know she’s fast. I mean, we see her beat the fastest living women in the world in this race below.

She also shows her speed here in the 4×100 relay against long time track dominators team Jamaica.

But How Fast is She

As a track star it’s expected that you show up to win each time you step in the arena. But as we adjust expectations and allow room for growth and failure we watch track and field athletes like Sha’Carri create their own terms. Sha’carri’s story is one that she writes like a thriller movie keeping us all on the edge of our seats. It’s a scary journey when you don’t know how it will end. But that’s the beauty of this new movement in assigning greatness. As we move closer to aligning human frailty to greatness we witness the power of being compelling. Sha’Carri is undoubtedly fast, she’s proven her speed time and time again, but maybe her journey is teaching us something else. Maybe we’re learning sometimes we’re faster when we take a moment to slow down.

What are your Sha’Carri theories? Be sure to check out some of my other thoughts.
