Hey Onika…

bleeding through the speakas

PAIN so loud

it can rock any crowd

wild freestyle

from the dome

in your zones

and isolating the ones

cooking up for you at home

you hungry for beef

and they families cant eat

but they made you their queen

so they’d never be weak

and yes they are strong

clear from the height on your throne

built you up higher

brought you more buyers

but now

as they try to reach ya

you abandon

that they need ya

leaving them stranded

are you a Barb or a bandit?

right now no one can tell

you’re heard loudly… through your yells

more like your crys for help

more like time for you to go stealth

there’s plenty a time and place for prayers

there’s no time or space quite right for betrayal

so bless her hard

her… he… they… them….

those who believe in you

cause you’re showing them whats truth

there is a God

but not the one they’ve made of you

-Bless her hard by Jeronique Bartley

Nicki Minaj’s Strong Self-Promotion

I’m not a Barb, but just like many other people who also are not Barbs, I’m captivated by their power, their presence and their loyalty to the brand they have created. Born at the onset of social media they have used the internet better than most fanbases. So much so, that when Nicki Minaj dropped her 5th album “Pink Friday 2” brands were as eager as her fans to party in “Gag City”. But all good parties must come to an end, (especially according to Kendrick Lamar’s song “Watch The Party Die“).

So… What’s Up With Mrs. Petty

Mrs. Petty’s party starts well before her first mixtape drops in 2007, (and long before she became Mrs. Petty)… using the power of Myspace Nicki Minaj slowly works her way into one of the hottest labels – Cash Money. They in turn make her one of the hottest female rappers in the world. Her fan base grows, like many other artists, thanks to the innovation of social media. People hang on her every word and her ability to draw attention. She becomes a queen of Billboard, the queen of the Barbs and to some, the queen of rap.

While her queendom is built on a solid bond between she and her fans, Unfortunately, as with some official monarchies, at some point the leadership loses touch with the people. They get too far away from their struggles, needs and wants and forget how to be a part of their community.

With a strong LGBTQ+ following the question here is “what’s up with Mrs. Petty?” As members, and supporters of the 2024 elected administration spew, spread and cultivate a society that skews toward hate it’s shocking to see Nicki Minaj join the rhetoric.

Political Marketing Is Trendy

There’s been a fight to end religious persecution since the beginning of time and today the fight continues. While religious persecution, in any format is wrong. Nicki Minaj, becoming an advocate during the promotion of her upcoming album release may be more wrong. As she created confusion about her political beliefs she jumped at an opportunity to expand that confusion by not only reposting the granddaughter of the political administrations leader but also him. What makes this particular exchange questionable is the hypocrisy of one leader and the betrayal of the other. As millions of Americans are at war with injustice, their highest elected official seems to draw power from causing division. But, who would have ever thought he’d be able to cause division in the Barb kingdom?

My self declared detective theory is mind control is alive and well and unfortunately Nicki Minaj may be losing control of her narrative to gain access to a larger audience. Using the same tools that lifted her high up in the rap community, she has bagan to pivot into political conversations. Unfortunately, for her, most artist of color who have come out in support of the administrations leader lose everything. Whether it will happen to Nicki Minaj remans to be seen.

She’s not in the Billboard list Top 100 , a place she dominated for nearly two decades. Nicki Minaj deactivated her instagram account and while the media mostly reported it as “without reason”, any true internet detective would allege it’s due to the high number of followers she’s losing. Based on different sources, she allegedly lost between 1 million to 3 million followers on Instagram after calling Cardi B’s children ugly amongst other derogatory terms.

If this is true, it could mean her fans seem to be setting a boundary, but to save face, Nicki may be strategically removing the publics ability to watch it unfold. While her Instagram account is deactivated it’s both unsearchable and non-viewable. So, it ensures no one can see her kingdom fall.

Bless Her Hard

Growing up elders had a saying that went “Bless your heart”. It was a way of politely calling you out when you were misguided. As Nicki Minaj continues to pull headlines and generate buzz worthy conversation through various tactics, her latest may be creating more pain for her supporters than pressure to continue pushing her. No one will know the damage until her album drops in 2026. Until then we have to watch and see if the Barbs will stick beside her or close a chapter of their lives and instead of the traditional phrasing resort to hoping that in the event of her continued success, that the powers that be will ignore her antics and bless her hard.

Update 11/4/2025

In a now deleted tweet Nicki said “I think I’m in shadoow band mode again Barbz. LMK if you get a notification.”… denial is a long river.
