Willow Smith has shadows all around her. Her parents Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are famous and have been that way for decades. Her brother Jaden Smith is a model, a movie star and a rapper. Her oldest brother Trey Smith is an actor, rapper and DJ. So, how do you create a lane for yourself in a talent based family? How Willow it was to take a chance and write something new.

Willow Smith Writes A Novel

I listen to Willow sing all the time. Her voice is singular and has created a world of its own. So, it’s no shock that she takes the same journey with her pen. She works with a co-author to create a historical fiction and I attended the book talk. So, I have an autographed copy of Willow’s first novel, and yes I have an opinion on the book. What Did I Get From The Book

I like to read books more than once to give my full opinion. I’m not there yet with this book. I read it with wonder. I wonder why when given the energy to write something new, Willow chooses this topic. I wonder how long it’s going to be before her family develops a film related to the book. I wonder when I will step out of my comfort zone and write something new. So, I guess, if anything, I get extra thoughts from the book. Thoughts in need of answers.

Write Something New

As the real world begins to repeat itself, it’s interesting watching it all unfold. It’s shocking to be alive as historical damages occur, but also inspiring to know that we all have a chance to write something new. So what will you write? What will you read?
